PUT YOURSELF FIRST
Most people, especially woman put their needs last on the list. Don't fall into that trap as it inevetably leads to a unhealthy lifestyle. If you don't feel well you won't be able to take care of the loved ones.
BE APPRECIATIVE.
When you eat poorly, you feel guilty. As we all do! We swear to yourselfs to be better tomrow, but tomorow is just as today. Appreciating what you do to yourself (i.e.healthy eating and moving your body) and you will feel reallyt good ! You will feel happy, your energy levels will be up, your skin will glow and there will be this sparkle in your eyes.
TAKE YOUR TIME.
Contrary to what we all think, we all have the same 24 hours in the day. The time it takes to wait for a take-away Pizza (30 minutes minimum) you can make a healthy alternative at home. Even if it pasta with a veggy sauce, or grilled chicken breast with salad, you need less time - and it is also cheaper. And you also teach your kids healthy habits. Fast food is most of the time not really faster.
BE AWARE.
Your mouth should be a treasure, not a trash can. When it is time to fuel up your body, choose food that will nourish your body so you can nourish yourself first, THEN the people in your life. Nutritional needs should NEVER be on the bottom of the list!
BE CONSISTENT
Forget about being on a diet for a short time just to drop a size or two. Consistently eating well means you are consistently doing something to influence the quality of your health.
MOVE YOU BODY!
Nature's best anti-depressant is to move! The key word is endorphins! You feel great after an invigorating walk! And yes, you can congratulate yourself and tell yourself that you are proud of yourself. And yes, you DO have time!
I have started to get a babysitter twice a week so that I can get moving. I just go on a walk and jog. I am gone for about 1 hour. Doesn't cost that much and I feel really proud afterwards.
In time I will post work out plans for beginners and those who have done sport on a regular basis.
TAKE A TIME OUT
We all need 20 minutes a day that belong just to us - and noone else. Take a bubble bath, listen to some music, read a book, meditate. Do whatever you want to relax. Taking some time for you will make you feel better. If you have kids talk to your other half to get some time or get a babysitter, cleaning lady whatever will get you some free time.
Being healthy starts with your attitude, regardless of where you are health-wise.
